Individualized, Orton-Gillingham–Based Academic Support
What Is Orton-Gillingham?
Orton-Gillingham is a research-based, structured approach to literacy instruction designed to support struggling readers, including students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Instruction is explicit, systematic, and sequential, meaning skills are taught clearly, in a logical order, and reinforced over time.
Lessons are multisensory, engaging visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways to support understanding, retention, and application of new concepts.
How I Use Orton-Gillingham
As a certified Orton-Gillingham instructor, I provide individualized instruction that is:
This approach allows students to build strong foundational skills while developing confidence and independence as learners.
My Students
I work with students from preschool through high school, using an individualized Orton-Gillingham approach at every age. Preschool-age children (4–5) begin with an early literacy screening, with instruction available where indicated, while elementary through high school students receive ongoing Orton-Gillingham instruction — all focused on building foundational skills, confidence, and independence.
Literacy Assessment
A comprehensive diagnostic evaluation identifying a student's specific strengths and areas of need, translated into an individualized instructional plan.
Orton-Gillingham Instruction
Individualized, twice-weekly literacy instruction for students from elementary through high school — addressing dyslexia, language-based learning differences, and decoding/encoding difficulties.
Preschool Literacy Screening & Instruction
Screening of pre-emergent through emergent literacy skills for children ages 4–5, with instruction available where indicated.
Executive Functioning Coaching
Individualized coaching addressing planning, organization, task initiation, working memory, and self-monitoring.
